O presente artigo discute a visão freudiana de feminilidade e maternidade. Propõe-se, inicialmente, uma contextualização sócio-histórica Sigmund Freud (1856-1939). Destacam-se como influências importantes nos escritos do autor, cultura patriarcal, as ideias iluministas complementaridade o ideal romântico feminilidade. analisa estas aparecem na teoria sobre feminino. É realizado um estudo conceito Complexo Édipo para realização análise crítica da que seria desenvolvimento saudável feminilidade, envolveria maternidade destino ideal.
